This beautifully proportioned jewelry box is a perfectly
scaled-down replica of a full-sized blanket chest. Just like the original, this
miniature blanket chest is complete with fine details including half-blind
dovetail construction, dovetailed bracket feet, dovetailed drawers, and a hinged
lid with a working lock. Inside the chest is a dovetailed storage tray. Sawing
and chiseling tiny dovetails is challenging and requires modifying stock chisels
to get into the tight spaces of the joints.
This is an exciting, six-day class that's sure to challenge your attention to
detail while building your skills in dovetailing and the construction of fine
casework. At week's end, you'll take home an heirloom chest and all of the parts
to build a second chest.
