Tuition
We feel certain that we offer the best value anywhere in woodworking education. Here’s a list of what you’ll receive:

  • Personal, organized instruction. Class size is small to assure that you receive personal attention.
  • We’ll mill the lumber--You won’t waste your valuable time standing in line at the planer. We mill the stock for you so that you can focus on developing your skills.
  • Generous class hours. Class runs 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. The last day of class is a full day. We don’t stop at noon to clean up.
  • Use of your own large sturdy workbench and vise.
  • Consumable supplies such as glue, sandpaper, and fasteners.

Class Hours
Classes meet from 8:00 am-5:00 pm each class day. The shop opens at 7:45 am.

Tools and Lumber
You'll also need to supply lumber and hand tools to build your project.  We'll send you material and tool lists when you register for a class and recommend the best type of wood to use for each project. To make things even easier, you can purchase a lumber kit from our supplier to be delivered directly to the school.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
We feel that we attract the most enthusiastic bunch of woodworkers in the USA--which is why we rarely have cancellations. However, we offer a generous cancellation policy (see below for details).  If you are forced to cancel a class, let us know in writing--with either a postal letter or an e-mail message.

  • Signing up for a class is a mutual time commitment. If you cancel ninety days or more prior to your class's start date, your tuition is fully refundable (minus a $150 processing fee).
  • If you cancel 46-89 days prior to your class's start date, you'll receive one-half of your tuition (minus a $150 processing fee).
  • As you can imagine, the closer you cancel to the start date of your class, the tougher it is to find someone who can make last-minute travel and work arrangements to take your place. For this reason, if you cancel within 45 days of your class’s start date, your tuition is not refundable.
  • In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled by Lonnie Bird’s School of Fine Woodworking, we'll promptly send you a full refund.

Waiting Lists

  • One last thing.  If you're too late to get into your ideal class, you can ask to be placed on a waiting list--at no charge or obligation.

"I get more excited about coming back after each class."--Frank R., LA
