Lonnie Bird's School of Fine Woodworking

Emphasizing Fine Craftsmanship

2008 Classes

You’ll learn a lot in one of our classes—here’s why:

Small class sizesWe accept only nine people in each woodworking class to ensure that you’ll receive plenty of personalized attention and instruction.  My woodworking instruction is personal and I’ll demonstrate techniques personally to you at your bench.

We’re organizedMy assistant and I spend several days before your woodworking class preparing for your arrival --you’ll find the drawings and class notes on your bench when you step in the door. Your stock will be milled accurately to size. And you’ll also find the that the saw blades, router bits and cutters are sharp and the power tools are maintained.

Great instructionI’ve taught hundreds of people woodworking. I teach time-honored mortise-and-tenon and dovetail construction. And I know how to break down seemingly difficult woodworking projects into manageable steps that you can master.

Our project classes are a full six days in length—In our woodworking classes, you’ll have more time to develop your skills.

We mill the stock for you—You won’t stand in line waiting to use the planer and jointer. Instead, you’ll find your stock already milled to size when you need it for the next step of your woodworking project.

We do the cleanup—We don’t have you stop early the last day to cleanup. Continue woodworking and learning; we’ll do the cleanup after your class is complete.

"The class was a weeklong adventure with Lonnie guiding the way.
Thanks for a great journey!"
