Woodworking School in Tennesse - Location and Facilities
Lonnie Bird's School of Fine Woodworking is located near the historic town of Dandridge, Tennessee. Dandridge has recently been awarded the coveted "National Main Street" designation and is a National Register Historic District. This quaint town is situated approximately 20 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains and is surrounded by beautiful, rolling farmland. Dandridge offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants, historic sites, and community events. Additionally, its location on the banks of Douglas Lake provides ample opportunities for boating and fishing. The town is also surrounded by several golf courses.
Lonnie Bird's School of Fine Woodworking is easily accessible via three major Interstates (I-40, I-81, and I-75), and serviced by the Knoxville Airport. The school is located approximately 4.5 miles from I-40 at Exit 417, and 2.5 miles from I-40 at Exit 424.

If you are looking for more recreational choices, the nearby cities of Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg provide ample opportunities for antiquing, shopping, dining, and entertainment. Pigeon Forge hosts a number of events throughout the year and is home to Dollywood Theme Park as well as several theaters.
Additionally, all the attractions of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just a short drive away. Want more choices?
